St. Elizabeth baseball wins second-straight state championship 

OZARK, Mo. (KMIZ)

The St. Elizabeth baseball team won its second-straight Class 1 state championship on Tuesday with a 13-3 run-rule win over South Nodaway in six innings. This marks the Hornets third state title in five seasons.

The Hornets got the scoring started in the top of the second inning putting one run on the board, but the Longhorns quickly answered with a run of their own in the bottom of the frame.

In the third inning, St. Elizabeth rallied five big scores together and five more in the sixth secured the win. The ninth batter Blake Wobbe was the leading force at the plate racking up six total RBI's on the day.

The win on the mound went to Gavin Williams giving up just four hits in five innings pitched.
