Mizzou softball’s season comes to an end with loss to Cal in Norman Regional

NORMAN, Ok. (KMIZ)

The Mizzou softball team saw its season come to an end Saturday with two losses in the Norman Regional. Up first, the Tigers fell 11-0 to No. 1 Oklahoma and then took a 7-5 loss later that evening against Cal.

MU put together just one hit against the Sooners and it took a while for the bats to wake up against the Bears with a scoreless first three innings. In the fourth, the offense found a spark with back-to-back-to-back home runs in the lineup from Maddie Gallagher, Megan Moll and Payton Jackson.

The Tigers fought to the very end with Kara Daly driving in two runs in the bottom of the seventh with a two-run single.

Senior Jordan Weber got the start on the hill for MU giving up four runs in her three innings pitched. Freshman Cierra Harrison gave up two more runs and Taylor Pannell allowed one.

The Tigers end the year 35-26 and 7-17 in the SEC.
