Classes one and two compete in day one of MSHSAA State track and field

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

MSHSAA State Championships kicked off Friday at Adkins Stadium with class one and two track and field teams looking to bring in some hardware.

Several local athletes came away with top finishes. You can find the full list of local finishes below.

CLASS ONE

Girls' shot put - fifth place Calvary Lutheran's Sydney Morris

Girls' 4x800 - sixth place Vienna's Madison Weeks, Claudia Wieberg, Jaedyn Schell, Aubrey Reeves

Girls' high jump - fourth place St. Elizabeth's Sarah Backes

CLASS TWO

Boys' pole vault - seventh place South Callaway's Colten Crocker

Boys' discus throw - third place Westran's Langden Kitchen, sixth place Westran's Brenin Howell

Boys' 1600m - seventh place Calvary Lutheran's Kyle Hagemeyer

Boys' long jump - second place Tipton's Johnathan Matchett

Boys' javelin throw - fourth place South Callaway's Nathan Russell

Girls' triple jump - seventh place Tolton's Aimi Zimmerman

Girls' javelin throw - first place Harrisburg's Emma Fischer

Girls' 4x800- first place Tolton's Jillian Andrews, Olivia Andrews, Madison Taylor, Elyse Wilmes

Girls' pole vault - fifth place South Callaway's Lacey Mathews-Honarmand

Girls' discus throw - fifth place Russellville's Trinity Riggs

Girls' 3200m - first place Tolton's Olivia Andrews, second place Tolton's Makaylin Viet
