ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMIZ)

The St. Louis Cardinals have now won three series in a row after the Red Birds secured a 3-0 divisonal win over the Milwaukee Brewers Wednesday. Pitcher Matthew Liberatore was the leading force throwing five scoreless innings in his start on the hill.

Liberatore was called up from Triple A on Tuesday and made his season debut against the Brewers with the series on the line. In his five innings pitched, he allowed just three hits and recorded six strikeouts. Andre Pallante, Giovanny Gallegos and Ryan Helsley were also a part of the shut out performance.

At the plate, Paul DeJong hit a two-run home run, plus Nolan Arenado recorded his 1,000th career RBI.

The Cardinals sit at 18-26 on the season after winning eight of their last 10 games. Up next, the team stays at Busch Stadium to host a four-game series with the Dodgers starting Thursday at 6:45 p.m.
