Mizzou’s Lovich earns SEC weekly honors

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Southeastern Conference pegged Mizzou outfielder Ross Lovich as the Co-Conference Player of the Week, after a big offensive performance in the sweep against Georgia.

Lovich started the series against the Bulldogs off by hitting for the cycle in the Friday night opener at Taylor Stadium. On that night, he went 4-for-5 at the dish and hit a single, double, triple and a home run in just seven innings.

He followed that performance up with a 2-for-5 day at the plate on Saturday. He homered, once again, and drove in three runs, as well as scoring two more in the walk-off, 14-12, MU win.

Up next - Lovich and the Tigers will head to Auburn for the final regular season series of the year. First pitch between the two Tiger teams is at 6 p.m. on Thursday.
