The Kansas City Royals had a chance to split the divisional series in Minnesota on Sunday, but instead the Twins clinched the series win with an 8-4 victory.

KC got off to a rough start giving up seven runs in the third inning and not being able to plate one of their own until the sixth. The Royals were down by six leading into the last inning, but showed some fight with two runs in the ninth.

Brady Singer didn't have a great start in the circle giving up five hits and eight earned runs in just over two innings pitched. Josh Staumont, Amir Garrett, Carlos Hernandez and Josh Taylor combined for five scoreless innings giving up just two hits.

At the plate, Vinnie Pasquantino went 3-for-4 with two RBI's and Edward Olivares went 1-for-3 bringing one home.

With yet another series loss, the Royals fall to 7-22 on the year. Up next, the group will be back at Kauffman Stadium for a three game series with the Orioles. Game one is set to start Tuesday at 6:40 p.m.
