Mizzou defensive end gets drafted to the Cleveland Browns

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Cleveland Browns picked up Mizzou defensive end Isaiah McGuire in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL Draft, with the No. 126 overall pick.

McGuire is the first Tiger to go in the Draft, which is hosted in Kansas City this year. He will work to add some depth to the trenches for Cleveland.

The Oklahoma-native will enter the league off of a standout senior season for MU. In 2022, he started in all 12 games, even playing with a separated shoulder. He finished the regular season with 39 total tackles, was second on the team with 13 tackles-for-loss and added on 7.5 sacks.

He finished his Mizzou playing career with 16.5 total sacks, which is good for 13th in program history.

McGuire tested well at the NFL Combine, as he was the only Tiger to earn an invite. He joins a loaded defensive end group in Cleveland, which includes Myles Garret, Ogbo Okoronkwo, Alex Wright and Isaiah Thomas.
