Chiefs wrap up 2023 NFL Draft with defensive-minded day

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Kansas City Chiefs used up all of their picks in the 2023 NFL Draft and each day three selection landed on the defensive side of the ball.

You can find a full list of the players that KC drafted on Saturday below.

  • Round four, pick No. 119 - Virginia Tech defensive back Chamarri Conner
  • Round five, pick No. 166 - Stephen F. Austin Sate edge BJ Thompson
  • Round six, pick No. 194 - Texas defensive tackle Keondre Coburn
  • Round seven, pick No. 250 - Ball State cornerback Nic Jones

In total, the Chiefs added seven new names in their hometown draft. General manager Brett Veach also started things off with a defensive selection, drafting Kansas State defensive end Felix Anudike-Uzomah with the No. 31 pick in the first round.

On Friday, KC addressed the offensive side of the ball. Former SMU wide receiver Rashee Rice got picked up in the second round, as the 24th overall pick. Then, in the third round, Oklahoma offensive tackle Wanya Morris was grabbed, as well, 92nd overall.
