Nine SEC prospects picked up in first round of 2023 NFL Draft
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Southeastern Conference showed up in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft. Three of the first four picks came from the SEC, with nine total conference players going in the first round.
Alabama quarterback Bryce Young went to the Carolina Panthers with the No. 1 overall pick. Following him, his Crimson Tide teammate edge Will Anderson Jr. went at No. 3 and Florida QB Anthony Richardson went at No. 4 to the Indianapolis Colts.
The Georgia Bulldogs and Alabama Crimson Tide tied for the most first round picks in the SEC, with three apiece.

- No. 14 - Georgia offensive tackle Broderick Jones - Pittsburgh Steelers
- No. 16 - Mississippi State cornerback Emmanuel Forbes - Washington Commanders
- No. 30 - Georgia edge Nolan Smith - Philadelphia Eagles
There are still quite a few big SEC names on the board headed into the second and third rounds of the NFL Draft. Most notably, projected first round pick, Kentucky quarterback, Will Levis has not been drafted by a team yet.
As far as conference quarterbacks go, two-time Georgia national champ Stetson Bennett is still available, as well as Tennessee's Hendon Hooker.
It's a loaded draft as far as cornerbacks go. Alabama CB Brian Branch is an expected second or third round pick on day two in Kansas City. Geogia's Kelee Ringo, South Carolina's Cam Smith, LSU's Jay Ward and many others are awaiting the results, as well.
