Mizzou running back enters transfer portal

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Mizzou running back BJ Harris made the official announcement that he has entered the transfer portal on Tuesday afternoon. The Tennessee-native is the second Tiger running back to throw his name in, following St. Louis-native Taj Butts.

Harris came to MU as a three-star recruit in the class of 2021, ranked by ESPN as the nation's No. 34 running back.

He got limited touches in 2022, tallying just 32 yards on eight attempts and one touchdown. Those numbers were a decent decrease from the 2021 season when he recorded 77 yards on 22 carries, along with one reception.

According to PowerMizzou.com, Harris' departure means that just eight of the 23 signees in the class of 2021, which was ranked No. 19 in the country, are still at Mizzou.

Harris will have two years of eligibility remaining for his next program.
