Dennis Gates picks up Indiana transfer Tamar Bates

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Dennis Gates made a new addition to next year's roster on Friday night by picking up Indiana transfer Tamar Bates.

The 6-foot-5 guard is from Kansas City, Kansas and was originally recruited to MU back in 2020. Over the past two seasons, Bates appeared in 67 games for the Hoosiers averaging 5.1 points and 1.9 rebounds.

This past season he averaged about 20 minutes per game with 6.1 points and 1.4 rebounds. Bates also shot 37% from three-point range and had seven double-figure scoring games.
