Four-star DL de-commits from Mizzou, two others enter transfer portal

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Mizzou football team had two players enter the transfer portal and one switch his commitment on Thursday.

The biggest blow of the day for the Tigers came when Hazelwood CentralĀ four-star defensive lineman Tionne Gray flipped his commitment from Mizzou to Oregon.

Gray had been committed to Mizzou for just 26 days. He said in a statement on Twitter, "First and foremost I want to say thank you to the Mizzou football family. Coach Drink, Coach Davis and the entire staff have been great throughout this entire process. After careful consideration, I have decided to decommit from the University of Missouri. This is not a decision that I take lightly, however I must make the best decision for my life and football future. I have decided to commit to the University of Oregon. I look forward to Saturdays in Eugene."

The first to enter the portal on Thursday morning was senior safety JustinĀ Efebera. He came to MU in 2019 where he was redshirted his freshman season and has not appeared in any games in Columbia. Efebera enters the portal with two years of eligibility.

The trend continued when redshirt sophomore tight end Gavin McKay also added his name to the list. McKay came to MU in 2021 where he was redshirted his freshman season and he did not play in any games last season. He'll have three years of eligibility left.
