No. 11 LSU softball takes series over Mizzou after 9-1 win on Saturday

BATON ROUGE, La. (KMIZ)

The Mizzou softball team is coming back to Columbia with one win in the series at at Baton Rouge after No. 11 LSU won the series finale 9-1 on Saturday.

The home Tigers only took five innings to get the job done after putting together six runs in the fourth inning.

MU put together just four hits on the day. Alex Honnold led things at the play going two-for-three with an RBI and Maddie Gallagher went two-for-two.

Jordan Weber took the loss on the mound giving up three runs in one inning pitched. Freshman Taylor Pannell pitched the next two innings also allowing three runs and Laurin Krings allowed the final three to put the game out of reach.

Mizzou is now 23-18 on the season and 3-12 in SEC games. The group will be back at home for a midweek game Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. against Lindenwood.
