Four Saturday wins on the diamond at Central Methodist
FAYETTE, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Central Methodist softball and baseball teams both claimed two home wins Saturday in some double-header action.
The Lady Eagles softball team took down MidAmerica Nazarene 7-0 and 9-1. In game one, Fayette's own freshman Jordyn Ball through a no hitter as well as recording seven strikeouts. Rock Bridge Alum Madison White led the outing at the plate going 3-for-4 with two runs brought in.
In game two, Haile Farris pitched a complete game on the hill giving up just three hits and one run, while picking up four K's. Madison Roberts and Lauren Hill both brought in two runs each.
The CMU softball team now sits at 17-5 on the season and 4-0 in conference games.
The baseball team also brought in two W's Saturday taking down Benedictine 5-2 and 11-2.
Clayton Burke pitched majority of game one allowing six hits and two runs in five innings. Justin Guzman and Larry Riddle Jr came in for relief not allowing a single hit in the final two innings.
In game two, CMU put up five of the 11 runs in the third inning. Dominic VanDoore brought in three runs and Tanner Sears brought home two. Marcus Pritchard got the win on the mound allowing three hits on two runs in six innings.
The CMU baseball team is now 20-10 on the season and 10-2 in conference games.
Both teams will have home double-headers on Sunday with the baseball team having two more games against Benedictine starting at 1 p.m. and the softball team hosting Graceland at noon.
