Mizzou gymnastics heads to regional final

LOS ANGELES, Ca. (KMIZ)

The No. 11 Mizzou gymnastics team put together the second-highest regional score in program history (197.400) to advance to the NCAA Los Angeles Regional Final.

UCLA won the session with a 198.275, but the Tigers managed to come in second to secure a spot in the finals. Stanford finished in third with a 197.275 and Boise State in fourth with a 196.225.

MU started the day on the floor putting up a team score of 49.375 led by Jocelyn Moore and Hannah McCrary both with scores of 9.9. In rotation two, the group scored a 49.400 with Moore, Sienna Schreiber and Amari Celestine each getting a 9.9.

Rotation three for the Tigers were spent on the bars where they put up a 49.150. Schreiber and Moore notched a team-high 9.850. In the final rotation, MU put up a new regional program-high on beam with a 49.475 with Alisa Sheremeta leading the way with a team-high 9.950. 

Up next - Mizzou and UCLA now advance to face No. 5 Utah and Washington in the regional final at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
