Mizzou hoops picks up transfer from Colorado State

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Mizzou men's basketball coach Dennis Gates picked up his first offseason commitment on Monday afternoon. Former Colorado State guard John Tonje announced he will be coming to Columbia.

The 6-foot-5 guard played for the Rams for four years before hitting the transfer portal on March 22. In the 2022-23 season he played in all 33 games and averaged about 14 points per game on 38.9 percent shooting from 3-point range. He added on about four rebounds per game, as well.

He committed to MU quickly after his visit to campus last weekend. He will have one year of eligibility left to use with the Tigers.
