Mizzou softball takes midweek home game over Drake

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Mizzou softball team managed to get back in the win column Wednesday night with a home victory over Drake 7-1.

The Tigers were led in the mound by freshman pitcher Cierra Harrison who pitched five complete innings allowing just two hits and recording eight strikeouts. Lauren Krings closed out the final two innings and recorded two strikeouts of her own.

At the plate, the Tigers were led by Jefferson City's own Kara Daly going two-for-three with four RBI's. Chantine Phillips and Payton Jackson both brought in a run each and Alex Honnold went three-for-four on the evening.

With the win, MU is now 20-11 on the season and 4-3 at home.

Up next, Mizzou will hit the road for an SEC weekend series against No. 21 Auburn. The three-game series is set to kick off Saturday at 6 p.m.
