Rock Bridge girls basketball finish second in the Class 6 tournament

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Rock Bridge girls basketball team fell 57-30 in the Class 6 state championship game to Incarnate Word to return to Columbia with a second place trophy.

With the win, the Red Knight's have now won six straight state titles.

The Bruins had a rough start to the game scoring just 13 points in the first half leaded into the locker room down by 15. To start the second half, Rock Bridge opened up with two back-to-back threes before giving up a 10-0 Incarnate run.

Sophomore Mari Miller scored a team high 12 points for the Bruins. No other player reached double-digits for Rock Bridge with Bella Corrado finishing with five and Jayda Porter with four.

As a team, the group shot 32% from the field, 20% from three and turned the ball over 15 times.

Incarnate Word was led by Kaylynn Janes with 19 points and Natalie Potts with 17 points and nine rebounds.

With the loss, the Bruins finish the season 24-8.
