Southern Boone girls fall short of a trip to the state championship game

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Southern Boone girls basketball team fell just short of a trip to the state championship game after a 55-40 loss in the Class 4 semifinals to Vashon.

The Eagles went into the half down 26-19, but a 19 point Wolverine third quarter put the game out of reach.

Southern Boone was led by senior forward Emilee DeHaas with a double-double 16 points and 10 rebounds. With the double-digit boards, DeHaas now holds the single season record at Southern Boone for rebounds.

With the loss, the Eagles fall to 21-10 on the season. Up next, the group will have a shot at third place Friday at noon against Central.
