Columbia College dominates for AMC quarterfinal win

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Columbia College women's basketball team advanced to the AMC Tournament semifinals with a dominant win over Cottey College on Friday night. The Cougars routed the Comets, 84-48.

Sophomore Mallory Shetley led the scoring attack with a team-high 16 points in the win. However, it was a by-committee effort on the box score. Both Mackenzie Hess and Peyton Crowe finished in double digit scoring, each ending with 11 points. Three more played also had eight or more points for CC.

Friday was head coach James Arnold and company's 12th-straight win this season. The group improved to 24-4 overall.

Up next - the Cougars will host No. 4 William Baptist on Saturday at 6 p.m. in the AMC semifinals at the Southwell Complex.
