Nick Honor’s three seals the deal in OT to power Mizzou over Mississippi State

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Mizzou men's basketball team was able to secure an overtime win 66-64 credit to a Nick Honor 3-pointer with seven seconds left to play.

The game came down to the wire, but the Tigers managed to get it done to end a two-game losing streak.

The Tigers were led by Kobe Brown with 17 points, six rebounds and five steals. D'Moi Hodge was right behind him with 16 points and four boards. Honor and Noah Carter also added 10 points each.

Tre Gomillion was a big presence off the bench with eight points and 10 rebounds in his first game back with significant minutes after suffering a groin injury last month.

As a team, MU shot 33% from the three-point line and 40% from the field. The Tigers forced 14 total turnovers and scored 15 points off of them. Overall, the stat sheet was mostly even, but the Bulldogs did have a slight advantage on the boards 41-38.

With the win, Mizzou now sits at 20-8 on the season and 8-7 in SEC play with just three regular season games remaining. This is the first time the team has reached 20 wins in a season since 2017-18.

Up next - the Tigers will hit the road to Athens to take on Georgia Saturday at noon.
