Ashton Judd named SEC Freshman of the Week

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Mizzou guard Ashton Judd is this week's SEC Freshman of the Week. The conference made the announcement on Tuesday.

Judd averaged about 16 points on 70 percent shooting, as well as four rebounds in wins against Mississippi State and Texas A&M. The West Plains alum also set a new career-high with 17 points against the Bulldogs on Thursday.

She followed up that performance against Mississippi State with a 16-point game against the Aggies on Monday night, which was the team-high in the win.

It's the first conference honor of Judd's young career. In her first season in Columbia, she averages about seven points and three boards per game.

Up next - Judd and Mizzou will close out the road slate with a trip to Ole Miss on Thursday night. Tip off is at 6 p.m.
