No. 16 Mizzou gymnastics upset No. 5 Auburn

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The No. 11 Mizzou gymnastics team put on a show for a record-breaking crowd at the Hearnes Center on Sunday night. The home Tigers upset No. 5 Auburn 197.450 to 196.550, which is the highest score of the season for MU.

The highlights of the night was when sophomore Jocelyn Moore earned a perfect 10 on the vault. That first rotation started Mizzou off on the right foot and they never looked back.

Moore also had herself a night on the floor, scoring a 9.925. However, it was fellow sophomore Amari Celestine who sealed the deal for the Tigers with the final routine of the night.

Alisa Shermemeta stood out in the upset, as well. She scored at 9.950 on the floor and a 9.875 on the beam.

Next up - Mizzou will hit the road to face No. 14 Arkansas in Fayetteville on Friday, Feb. 24 at 8 p.m.
