The Tigers saw quite a few shooting struggles out of the gate, shooting just 30 percent from the field at halftime. Senior Kobe Brown did his best to carry MU to a win on Saturday. He finished with a team-high 24 points, along with six rebounds and three steals. The only other Tiger to hit double-digit scoring was D'Moi Hodge, with 12 points on the night.

Gates' group did shoot a lot better after halftime, going 52 percent from the field, but the group still finished at about 39 percent accuracy, overall.

Saturday was also the eighth annual Rally for Rhyan game at Mizzou Arena. The game first started in 2016, when former MU hoops assistant Brad Loos' daughter, Rhyan, was diagnosed with a Stage IV neuroblastoma. She has been in remission for six years now, but the Rally for Rhyan Foundation still works to raise money for pediatric cancer research.

"Initially it was kind of an emotional uh type situation for us, but now it's more of a celebration of how well Rhyan is doing and how far we've come," Brad said.

Up next - Mizzou will stay home to host Mississippi State on Tuesday, Feb. 21. Tip off is at 6 p.m.
