Mizzou baseball falls to No. 11 Oklahoma State in 2023 opener

The Mizzou baseball team took a 5-3 loss against No. 9 Oklahoma State Friday in the College Baseball Showdown in Arlington, Texas in kick off the 2023 season.

The Tigers outhit the Cowboys 8-6 in the game, but couldn't make a comeback happen giving up all five runs in the second inning.

Mizzou was led by right fielder Ross Lovich going two for five with an RBI. Shortstop Justin Colon also went one for three and brought in a run.

Chandler Murphy starting the game on the mound for MU giving up five runs on five hits in just over two innings. Tony Neubeck had a good performance after that allowing just one hit in a little over three innings and recording nine strikeouts.

Up next - MU will continue play in Arlington taking on Texas Saturday at 3 p.m.
