Mizzou men’s basketball takes biggest loss of the season at Auburn

AUBURN, Al. (KMIZ)

The Mizzou men's basketball team was quickly jumped on at Auburn and never got back in it falling to the Tigers 89-56 on the road Tuesday night. This loss marks the biggest deficit of the season for MU.

MU was down early 19-2 and ended up only scoring 18 total points in the first half. It was one of the worst shooting nights of the season for Mizzou shooting 32% from the field and 23% from three.

Ball security haunted Mizzou with 16 turnovers resulting in 23 Auburn points. Auburn also outrebounded MU big time 48-26.

The Tigers were led by Sean East with a team-high 14 points. DeAndre Gholston was the only other Tiger to reach double-figures finishing with 10.

MU could not stop Johni Broom down low as he finished with a double-double 20 points and 10 rebounds.

With the loss, Mizzou is now 19-7 on the season and 7-6. The Tigers struggles on the road continue as they fall to 3-5 away from Mizzou Arena.

Up next - MU comes back to Columbia to host Texas A&M Saturday at 5 p.m.
