Dree Gholston hits buzzer beater to knock off No. 6 Tennessee

KNOXVILLE, Tn. (KMIZ)

The Mizzou men's basketball team knocked off No. 6 Tennessee in Knoxville Saturday 86-85 on a buzzer beater from DeAndre Gholston.

This game went down to the wire and Gholston managed to drain a three from nearly half court with four seconds left to play. This marks his second game winner of the year.

The Tigers were led by Kobe Brown with 21 points and five rebounds. Sean East had 17 points off the bench and a team-high four assists. Gholston added 18 points and D'Moi Hodge finished with 14.

Overall, MU shot 53% from the field and 54% from the three-point line. The Tigers finished the game with 10 turnovers and 18 assists.

The Volunteers were led by Tyreke Key with 23 points and six rebounds.

With the win, the Tigers fall to 19-6 on the year and 7-5 in the conference.

Up next - Mizzou's road trip will continues as the team heads to Auburn Tuesday at 6 p.m.
