Mizzou WBB falls to Georgia; extends losing streak to five games

ATHENS, Ga. (KMIZ)

The losing streak is now up to five games for the Mizzou women's basketball team. The Tigers fell to Georgia on the road, 62-51, on Thursday night.

With the loss, MU is 14-7 overall and 3-5 in SEC action, after starting 3-0 in conference play.

MU had three players in double digit scoring in the loss. Forward Hayley Frank led the team with 13 points, along with one assist and two rebounds. Guard Sara-Rose Smith and guard Haley Troup had 12 and 11 points, respectively.

Head coach Robin Pingeton's group actually won both the turnover battle and the rebound battle on Thursday, but could not come out with a win.

The Bulldogs had a big push off the bench, with 31 points from non-starters on the night.

Up next - Mizzou will stay on the road to meet Kentucky on Sunday, Jan. 29 at 2 p.m.
