Mizzou LB Ty’Ron Hopper announces 2023 return

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Mizzou football found out Tuesday afternoon that another key piece of the defense will be returning for the 2023, with linebacker Ty'ron Hopper announcing that he's staying with the Tigers.

The Mizzou football twitter page made the official return video.

Hopper finished his first year in Columbia second on the team to defensive back Jaylon Carlies with 78 total tackles. 

He also led the team with a team-high 14 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, six quarterback hurries, an interception, four pass breakups and a forced fumble.

This was Hopper's first season at Mizzou after spending his first three seasons with Florida.

Other major parts of the Mizzou defense have also announced returns such as defensive lineman Darius Robinson, defensive back Jaylon Carlies and cornerback Kris Abrams-Draine.
