Mizzou defensive lineman announces plan to enter transfer portal

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Just six days after he announced that he would be returning to Mizzou for one more season, defensive lineman Trajan Jeffcoat announced he will be entering the transfer portal on Monday.

On Tuesday, Jeffcoat said that he would be returning for his fifth season in 2023. However, he has since deleted the tweet and made this new announcement on Monday.

Over the course of four seasons in Columbia, Jeffcoat racked up 85 tackles and about 11 sacks.

The Columbia, South Carolina native came to Missouri as a three-star recruit, picking Mizzou over multiple other Power Five others. He made an immediate impact as a freshman, playing in all 13 games in his first year.

In 2020, he earned first-team All SEC honors with six tackles for loss, 23 total tackles, and six sacks through 10 games. He followed that up with another career season in 2021. Through that year, he had a career-best 34 tackles and about three sacks.

Jeffcoat will have one year of eligibility remaining for his next school.
