Mizzou football announces 2023 class on first day of national signing period
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The first day of early signing day for college football kicked off Wednesday and Mizzou football has announced quite a few national letters of intent.
The day started off with head coach Eli Drinkwitz tweeting "Flipmas Season." It was found out later that the flip was defensive lineman Sam Williams.
"It's always a good day when you're able to add talent to your roster," Drinkwitz said. "We start with an emphasis on recruiting the right fit for the University. We were able to sign a lot of good players including seven players from the state of Missouri."

"We were able to add six state champions in this class, which for us is always a great sign when you can add a winner," Drinkwitz said. "It's important for everyone to understand that recruiting doesn't stop. We're still recruiting transfers and there's still a window for us to have official visitors on Jan. 4-8 and the first day for transfers for us will be Jan. 17."

Sam Williams
Williams is a three-star defensive lineman from Logansville, Georgia who was previously committed to Wake Forest. The flip comes two days before Mizzou will play Wake Forest in the Gasparilla Bowl.
Theo Wease
Transfer wide receiver Theo Wease was the first official signing of the 2023 class. He scored ten touchdowns in three seasons at Oklahoma.
Jahkai Lang
In-state edge rusher Jahki Lang from Troy signed next. The 6-foot-4, 240-pound DE commit is considered one of the top 20 players in the state of Missouri.
Brandon Solis
The next signee is Nashville, Tenn. tackle Brandon Solis. Solis is a 6-foot-7, nearly 300-pound offensive lineman.
Blake Craig
The Tigers landed another in-state commit in kicker Blake Craig from Liberty North High School.
Marvin Burks Jr.
The in-state commits kept coming with four-star safety Marvin Burks Jr from Cardinal Ritter High School.
Brett Norfleet
Another in-stater tight end Brett Norfleet from Francis Howell High School has officially signed with the Tigers. The four-star prospect will also reportedly play baseball.
Serigne Tounkara
Mizzou signed some defensive help in Texas defensive end Serigne Tounkara.
Jordan Harris
The next commits comes from Arkansas in tight end/defensive end Jordon Harris. Harris started playing football last summer.
Austin Firestone
Mizzou landed another addition from the transfer portal in defensive end Austin Firestone. The 6'5", 290-pound lineman played at Northwestern last season and announced his commitment on Tuesday.
Logan Reichert
Another in-state commit comes in Raytown offensive lineman Logan Reichert. Reichert stands at 6'6", 350 pounds, committed to Mizzou on Sept. 8 after an official visit to Columbia on June 24.
Marquis Johnson
The wide receiver room continues to grow as three-star Marquis Johnson from Texas signs his letter of intent.
Shamar McNeil
Shamar McNeil becomes the Tigers first cornerback to sign. The three-star commit from Florida stands at 6'3", 175 pounds.
Triston Newson
Mizzou's next commit is JUCO linebacker Triston Newson from Northeast Community College. This past season, the sophomore was named Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference defensive player of the year after tallying 107 tackles.
Brayshawn Littlejohn
The Tigers picked up another linebacker with the signing of four-star prospect Brayshawn Littlejohn. As a 6'1", 220 pound linebacker from Gaffney, SC, Littlejohn is one of two linbackers in the class so far.
Daniel Blood
Wide receiver Daniel Blood from Destrehan, LA signs to MU. Blood held offers from several schools, such asLouisiana, Cincinnati, Mississippi State, Purdue and Vanderbilt. He also competed on his high school's track and field team.
Josh Manning
Another in-state prospect wide receiver Josh Manning joins the 2023 class. The 4-star from Lee’s Summit High School finished his junior season with 69 catches for 900 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Phillip Roch
Another safety joins the recruiting class in Phillip Roch from Merrilville, Indiana. The three-star comes in at 6’1", 190 pounds.
Nicholas DeLoach
The wideouts continue to be added to the 2023 class with the addition of three-star Nicholas DeLoach. The 6'1", 170 pound commit comes to Mizzou from Cahokia, Ill.
Jamal Roberts
Running back Jamal Roberts will be staying in state and playing at Mizzou. The three-star prospect from St. Mary's High School in St. Louis announced his commitment to the Tigers in July.
Gabarri Johnson
Quarterback Gabarri Johnson is the final early signee. The four-star QB comes to Mizzou from Lincoln High School in Tacoma, WA.
