Mizzou defensive back will return in 2023

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Another major contributor on the Mizzou defense announced that they will be returning for the 2023 season on Sunday evening. Defensive back Ennis Rakestraw will stay with the program for "one more year."

He joined fellow defensive back Kris Abrams-Draine in members of the Tiger secondary to stay in Columbia. The duo made up one of the most effective corner duo in the SEC in 2022, as they combined for 25 pass break ups through the year.

After tearing his ACL in 2021, Rakestraw started in all 12 games this past season, finishing with 35 total tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, and three forced fumbles.
