Huge second half powers Tennessee over Mizzou

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

After trailing Tennessee by just four points early in the third quarter, the Mizzou Tigers gave up 38 points in the second half to fall to the Vols 66-24.

The Mizzou defense gave up a total of 724 yards. Vols quarterback Hendon Hooker passed for 355 yards and three scores, plus had 50 yards and a score rushing.

Brady Cook finished the day 19-of-32 with 217 yards and two scores, plus 106 rushing yards.

Barrett Banister was the leading receiver with seven catches for 73 yards following by Tauskie Dove's 72 yards and a touchdown.

With the loss, Mizzou needs to win the final two games of the season to get six wins and be considered bowl eligible.

Up next - Mizzou will be back home next Saturday to take on New Mexico State at 6:30 p.m.
