Mizzou offense looking to keep momentum for complete game

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

After not scoring a point in the second half in the win against Vanderbilt, the Mizzou offense is working to fix what went wrong.

"We just couldn't get in a rhythm," said quarterback Brady Cook. "We had a couple turnovers in the second half. We ran the ball well at times, but it was just tough to get the ball moving."

Part of figuring out how to keep that momentum rolling for four quarters straight is each player figuring out their role to get the team a win.

"We have to be better at pass protecting," said running back Cody Schrader. "When he (Cook) has time, he makes big plays and receivers make big plays. That's something as the running back room we have to take accountability for and O-line just get better each week."

Last week was not the biggest week for wide receiver Dominic Lovett with just four catches for 12 yards. Lovett said his focus is on the offense as a whole continuing to grow.

"I just see us taking baby steps in every direction whether it be one of us complimenting the other, one of us getting another one open, blocking for one another," Lovett said.
