Mizzou volleyball beats Auburn for first SEC win

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Mizzou volleyball team got its first SEC win Sunday with a 3-1 home victory against Auburn.

Auburn took the first set of the match, but MU showed fight to bring it back to take the next three sets and win the match.

Kaylee Cox was a huge offensive force in the win for the Tigers with a team high 17 kills, plus adding 10 digs and three blocks.

Freshman setter Riley Buckley had 36 total assists, three blocks and four kills on the match and Estella Zatechka led the defense with 16 kills.

Head coach Josh Taylor said after the game that the fight that his team showed in the fourth set to pull out the 29-27 win proves to him that they can play like that all the time.

"Another really big thing for this group is staying together when things get hard," Taylor said. "When we are together and we are one unit rather than six individuals out there, we play a pretty high level volleyball game."
