Mizzou volleyball sweeps opening weekend at Hearnes Center

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Mizzou volleyball team swept Northwestern State, 3-0, in the final game of opening weekend at the Hearnes Center. With the win, the Tigers took a clean sweep in the Mizzou Invitational.

MU took down both Abilene Christian and Missouri State on Friday, before finishing off the tournament with a win over the Northwestern State Demons on Saturday.

Sophomore outside hitter Kaylee Cox had a team-high 14 kills and seven service aces in the win. Senior Anna Dixon and freshman Janet Demarrais tied for second place in kills, each ending with eight.

Up next - Mizzou will travel to Kansas State to meet the Wildcats on Wednesday, Sept. 7.
