Royals lose three in four-game series with the Rays

TAMPA BAY, Fl. (KMIZ)

The Kansas City Royals lost three during a four-game series with the Tampa Bay Rays after losing the final game 3-2 on Sunday.

In Sunday's matchup, KC's runs were driven in by MJ Melendez and Bobby Witt Jr.

Zack Greinke pitched four innings on the mound giving up two earned runs on five hits and recording two strikeouts.

The Royals only win of the series came Friday in the 3-2 finish. This puts Kansas City 16.5 games out of first place with a record of 49-74.

Up next - KC returns home for a game Monday against the White Sox at 1:10 p.m.
