Chiefs win first preseason game back at Arrowhead
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Kansas City Chiefs returned to Arrowhead Stadium Saturday for the first time since the AFC Championship game.
Patrick Mahomes played just over one quarter in the 24-14 win over the Washington Commanders, but still put up some big numbers going 12-of-19 for 162 yards and two touchdowns.
Both of Mahomes' TD's went to Jody Fortson as he enters his third season with the Chiefs. Justin Watson also had two receptions for 53 yards.
The rookie from Maryland, Tayon Fleet-Davis, also had a touchdown.
On the defense, Khalen Saunders and George Karlaftis both recorded a sack and Chris Lammons had four tackles and an interception.
Up next - The Chiefs have one last preseason game at Arrowhead Aug. 25 at 7 p.m. against the Green Bay Packers.
