Collier works to build “blue family” culture in second season at Capital City

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

In entering his second season at Capital City, Joe Collier says he is working to build a "blue family" culture amongst his team.

Last year, the Cavaliers only won one game and Collier says this offseason has come with a different mindset.

"We're been going through the process of learning plays and making sure we're doing what champions do and just making sure we're on the same page with everything," Collier said.

Collier says part of being on the same page is making sure they get things done as a family.

"We talk about blue family all the time. We talk about uplifting each other and just making sure that we're leading by example throughout the program, throughout school and letting it be our school culture," Collier said.

Capital City will kick off the season on Aug. 26 at home against Warrensburg at 7 p.m.
