The St. Louis Cardinals dropped the rubber match against the Cincinnati Reds on Sunday, 6-3, despite two home runs from Paul Goldschmidt.

The Reds currently sit in last place in the National League's central division, but the club has won eight of its last 12 games. Cincinnati pitcher Tyler Mahle threw for six innings against the Cardinals with five strikeouts and just two hits, both courtesy of Goldschmidt.

Miles Mikolas made it through five innings for the red birds, allowing six earned runs and punching out four.

St. Louis will make the trip up to Toronto to meet the Blue Jays on Tuesday, but the club will look for the win without a couple of All-Stars. On Sunday, the Cardinals announced that Paul Goldschmidt, Nolan Arenado, and backup catcher Austin Romine will not be able to travel to Canada due to their vaccination status.

Pitcher Johan Oviedo may also not be able to travel. He said that his passport is expired, but reports say he is working to get it fixed so he can make his start.

First pitch against the Blue Jays on Tuesday will be at 6:07 p.m.
