Mizzou softball picks up Texas Tech transfer

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Mizzou softball coach Larissa Anderson picked up a name from the transfer portal on Tuesday, as former Texas Tech outfielder Payton Jackson announced her commitment to Mizzou on social media.

Jackson had a standout junior season for the Red Raiders. She batted .336 with five home runs and 21 RBIs through the season. She also led the team in seven different offensive categories at Tech's top hitter.

Following the 2022 season, MU graduated eight seniors, so Jackson will bring some experience to the Tiger squad, as well.
