Royals fall 2-1 in home series against the Astros

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Kansas City looked to clinch the home series against Houston Sunday but with the 7-4 loss, the Astros take the series 2-1.

It was a rough start to the series for the Royals losing 10-3 on Friday with Brady Singer giving up seven earned runs.

Saturday was a better outing as KC tied the series with the shut out 6-0 win led by Salvador Perez who was 2 for 4 with three RBI's.

The Royals led with Framber Valdez on the mound Sunday who gave up two earned runs on four hits and recorded eighth strikeouts.

Despite the 7-4 loss, Perez had a big day again going 2 for 3 and three RBI's. The Royals have now lost the last seven series

Up next - Kansas City will host the Toronto Blue Jays in a three-game series starting Monday at 7 p.m.
