Laird, Chaumont earn Gold Glove Awards

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The 2022 season is the first year that the Rawling's Gold Glove Awards have been used in collegiate softball and Mizzou was awarded two, shortstop Jenna Laird and left fielder Casidy Chaumont.

Mizzou is the only program to have multiple gold glove winners.

The sophomore shortstop, Laird, finished the year with a .975 fielding percentage, turning 10 double plays and not making an error during SEC play.

The senior left fielder, Chaumont, was an All-SEC Defensive Team selection and has appeared on SportsCenter's Top Ten Plays four times over her career at Mizzou. She has also thrown out five runners on the basepaths from left field over her two seasons.

Laird and Chaumont make up two of the SEC's four selections.
