Cardinals sweep home series with Padres

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMIZ)

The St. Louis Cardinals swept the home series with the San Diego Padres to start to week ending on Wednesday with a 5-2 victory.

The Cardinals won game one 6-3 led by Nolan Gorman who was 3 for 3 with two RBI's.

Tuesday's game was neck and neck into the 10th inning until Albert Pujols hit a walk-off sac fly to get the 3-2 win.

St. Louis dominated in game three with Dakota Hudson pitching seven innings allowing one earned run on four hits and recording three strikeouts.

Nolan Arnedo led the bats for the Red Birds driving in three runs on a 3 for 4 day. Plus, Paul Goldschmidt extended his hitting streak to 23 games.

Up next - The Cardinals will travel to Chicago for a five-game series with the Cubs starting Thursday at 7 p.m.
