COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Missouri's all-time winningest high school tennis coach, Ben Loeb has announced that the upcoming Fall girls' season will be his last at Rock Bridge High School.

The announcement of the retirement was confirmed to KMIZ in a text message from Loeb Tuesday afternoon.

Loeb has made a name for himself around Columbia coaching at Mizzou for three years from 1986-88, then at Hickman High School for five years from 1989-94 and for the past 28 years he's been at Rock Bridge.

"I have NOT had enough, but it's time to consider other options with my son having just graduated from RBHS and with my wife and I interested in spending time in Arizona for much of the winter and into the spring," Loeb said.

Loeb currently holds a state-record 1,192 career wins as a head coach with 19 State Championships and zero losing seasons.
