Mizzou softball standout gets drafted in the pros

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Mizzou standout Casidy Chaumont is officially going pro. The USA Pride selected the outfielder with the 12th and final pick of the inaugural Women's Professional Fastpitch College Draft.

Chaumont has had quite a career for the Tigers after transferring from Louisiana ahead of the start of the 2020 season. The SEC put Chaumont on the conference's All-Defense team in 2021 and 2022. She was also named All-SEC in 2021, as well.

She is best-known for her acrobatic catches in left field, but also made her contributions at the plate. Through the 2022 season, Chaumont is batting .299 with six home runs on the year.
