Mizzou baseball drops series to Florida

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Mizzou baseball team could not hang on to an early lead as the group fell to the Florida Gators in the series rubber match, 4-3.

Carter Rustad was handed the loss on the bump, dropping him to 3-2 this season. He pitched for about five innings with five strikeouts and four earned runs allowed. Nathan Landry and Austin Troesser both pitched scoreless relief, but it was not enough.

St. Louis native Luke Mann and Helias alum Trevor Austin both hit home runs in the loss.

Up next - Mizzou will travel to Lawrence, Kansas to take on the Jayhawks on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m.
