Mizzou puts up third-straight shutout; secures spot in SEC Tournament Championship

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (KMIZ)

Despite about a two hour rain delay, the Mizzou softball team put up its third-straight shutout in the SEC Tournament to get a 3-0 win over Tennessee on Friday.

The seventh-seeded Tigers took a two-run lead over the third-seeded Volunteers courtesy of two solo home runs from Kimberly Wert and Hatti Moore.

The MU pitching staff had another dominant day in the circle. Jordan Weber tossed a complete game shutout with one strikeout and six hits allowed.

Up next - Mizzou will either meet Arkansas or Florida in the SEC Championship game on Saturday.
