Mizzou baseball falls to Florida in series opener

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Mizzou baseball team did not start its final home series of the season on a high note, as the group fell 13-1 to the Florida Gators on Friday.

Head coach Steve Bieser dug deep into the bullpen in the loss. Six Tiger pitchers made an appearance on the bump at Taylor Stadium. Tony Neubeck was charged with his third loss this season, as he went about two innings with two strikeouts and four earned runs allowed.

One of Mizzou's three hits on the night came from Helias alum Trevor Austin. He hits a solo home run in the first inning to put the Tigers on top.

Up next - Mizzou and Florida will continue the series at Taylor Stadium on Saturday. First pitch is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
