Mizzou baseball team wins series over Kentucky

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Mizzou baseball team won its second SEC series of the season, courtesy of a 10-6 win over Kentucky on Saturday.

The Tigers trailed 6-0 at the start of the game, however, the MU bats came alive and put up an eight-run third inning to take the lead. Luke Mann, Torin Montgomery, and Ross Lovich all sent runners in through that frame. Ty Wilmsmeyer stole home for the eighth and final run of the rally.

Although Austin Marozas got the start on the bump, Carter Rusad got the win for MU. The sophomore tossed five strikeouts over about four innings with no earned runs allowed.

Lovich had the team-high three RBI in Mizzou's win.

Up next - head coach Steve Bieser's group will host Missouri State on Tuesday, April 19. First pitch will bbe at 6 p.m.
